Perspective

Dinesh D’Souza, the author of What’s So Great About Christianity has posted on AOL News Bloggers an opinion piece called The Failure of “Intelligent Design”.  The points in the article are ones that have been shot down again and again by people much smarter than myself, so I won’t comment except on this one extract:

Ben Stein’s movie “Expelled” provides horror stories to show that the case for ID as well as critiques of evolution from an ID perspective are routinely excluded or censored in the halls of academe.

The quite proper exclusion and censoring of the teaching of ID in schools are not “horror stories“.  Nor, as I’ve often seen in write-ups for the movie, are they “tragedies”.  These are horror stories and tragedies: friendly fire, genocide, AIDS, famine, and lynchings to name only five.  It’s called “perspective”.
